Phil Mickelson wins East Lake, Tiger Woods the FedEx Cup
Phil Mickelson with his Callaway golf clubs and Tiger Woods with his Nike golf clubs put on a great show this week. Phil won the tournament or the battle and Tiger lost the battle but won the war, the fed-ex cup. Sunday the two biggest stars in golf finished first and second in a tournament for only the eighth time in history.
But never before has the top two shared the spotlight and both got top paychecks and trophies that were meaningful to both of them in there own way. Phil has had a tough summer since his mother and wife were goth diagnosed with breast cancer and he stayed of the tour for most of the summer. And then to come back and win this tournament has to be a huge accomplishment.
