Golf in November with a Calloway Tour ix golf ball
I know this is Calloway golf balls top of the line so i expected it to feel like hitting a brick like the Titleist Pro V in the cold weather. Surprise, Surprise, off of the tee box, first hit it felt like an eighty degree day golf ball strike and flew very well. Of coarse it rolled good but part of that was because the ground is hard as a rock almost so there is nothing to stop it, all day i had super long drives.
That is a very good advantage to golfing in the cold, hard ground, it give you an extra 30 yards on your drives. But on the other end you have to figure that in when approaching the green because that surface is cold and hard also. But it did not matter when i hit my Taylormade 3 wood from 205out, usually a stretch, and it rolled up 8 feet short of the blue flag and right on line. Dam i am good!! Yea right, just lucky once in a while.
The afternoon was good fun but i was amazed at the performance of the Calloway Tour ix golf balls in this temperature. Usually i use a Precept laddie or other golf balls made for slower swing speeds, ladies golf balls, so they still feel soft.
I have to write this down so i do not forget, buy a big box of Calloway tour ix golf balls and see what they do in the spring because i am definitely impressed with there performance now.
