Calloway HX Bite Golf Ball part 1

Thursday, January 21, 2010 By: john
Category: Golf, golf balls

The Calloway Golf  Company has a really good line up of golf gear. They seem to be working very hard to give us a quality product for our money. One of those products  is the HX Bite golf ball, giving us long distance and green grabbing control when we need it.

The HX BITE  golf balls are a three piece ball that delivers tour level spin without the cost of a four piece. The soft high energy core works with the advanced inner core to lower spin when the golf balls are hit with a driver which enables very good distance.

Nike One golf ball

Tuesday, January 12, 2010 By: john

The Nike One golf balls are the top of the line balls that they make. And if Tiger comes back it is the golf ball that he uses on the golf course. The balls he uses  off of the course are up to him, and he has made some bad choices in my opinion.

Anyway the Nike One golf balls are 4 piece construction ball to give you very soft feel around the green and still perform for a maximum distance off of the tee box. The Power Transfer technology that Nike put in the urethane cover goes a long way towards the performance of the Nike One ball.

The golf balls are engineered to be the best golf ball available to play today.  The Nike One golf ballshave optimized compression and a tested dimple design that work with the other features to create a golf ball with distance off of the tee and feell around the green which is not easy to accomplish.

Titleist Golf Balls The NXT Tour

Titleist Golf Balls has improved it’s NXT Tour golf ball. This golf ball has 392 dimple design that is unique to titleist in a staggered wave design. The  NXT Tour golf balls are designed and engineered for the upper escutcheon or lower handicap golfers out there. These golf balls will react well to the high speed club head strike to fly long and true.

These tour balls have a cover that can absorb and react to bashing with the driver but when you get to your approach shot to the green it is soft and workable. It does not do any good to have a long drive and be within striking distance of the green and have no control over the ball spin. Or to hit your shot and the ball feels like a brick when not struck hard.

Titleist golf balls has created a ball to get there and then feel soft and have workability around the green. That is what we golfers want in a ball, smash it straight and long off of the tee and touchy feely around the green.

I know this is Calloway golf balls top of the line so i expected it to feel like hitting a brick like the Titleist Pro V in the cold weather. Surprise, Surprise,  off of the tee box, first hit it felt like an eighty degree day golf ball strike and flew very well. Of coarse it rolled good but part of that was because the ground is hard as a rock almost so there is nothing to stop it, all day i had super long drives.

That is a very good advantage to golfing in the cold,  hard ground,  it give you an extra 30 yards on your drives.  But on the other end you have to figure that in when approaching the green because that surface is cold and hard also. But it did not matter when i hit my Taylormade 3 wood  from 205out, usually a stretch,  and it rolled up 8 feet short of the blue flag and right on line. Dam i am good!! Yea right, just lucky once in a while.

The afternoon was good fun but i was amazed at the performance of the Calloway Tour ix golf balls  in this temperature. Usually i use a Precept laddie or other golf balls made for slower swing speeds, ladies golf balls, so they still feel soft.

I have to write this down so i do not forget,  buy a big box of Calloway tour ix golf balls and see what they do in the spring because i am definitely impressed with there performance now.

I was very fortunate to get to golf in November at all but to get out on the 18th was great. The winter away from golf gets to long in northern Wisconsin any way but this will help. I am ready to take a break from golf for a while but i am sure about march 15th i will be cleaning up theTaylormade golf clubs. And thinking about replacing some of them with newer more high tech models no doubt.

Any way i have my electric cart packed away for the winter so i took my three wheel Bag Boy out for the final stroll. That was good for exercise and to help keep the blood warm, after all the temperature was about 45 degrees.

Now i try to use different golf balls to see how they work in different temperatures and situations and this day was no exception. A few weeks ago i was looking for a lost ball in the woods and leaves, not mine i would not hit a ball there ‘ ha ha’ and i found a very new Calloway golf ball, the Tour ix, that someone had bad direction on.

O i am getting windy with my writing today, better check back for the rest of the story.

Calloway Golf Balls has a very good ball designed for the ladies. But just because this ball is designed for the ladies slower swing speed does not mean it is for ladies only. I will tell you what, these softer feel Solaire golf balls work great when you live in northern Wisconsin and you are playing golf in temperatures under 60 degrees. That soft feel goes a long ways and are much easier to control than the high compression expensive golf balls that all feel like bricks when hit at 50 degrees outside.

The Calloway Solaire Golf Balls perform admirably with the resilent soft core and provides increased distance and carry. With the lower compression core you get that soft feel off of the golf club face that gives you the confidence we all need.

Calloway golf Balls  has designed the Solaire ball in two distinct colors, pure white and visibility Pink. Both colors have a distinctive flair with the luminous finish that any of the ladies will love to play golf with.

Calloway Golf Balls Warbird

Sunday, November 15, 2009 By: john

Calloway golf balls has changed the old warbird. This new Warbird ball design has many new changes handed down from the top of the line. Starting with the part of the warbird golf balls we all can see is the old round dimples are gone and replaced with the HEX Aerodynamics for the first time.

This Ionomer cover with the new HEX dimples provides longer lasting playability because it is so durable. Of coarse the longer lasting cover only works if the golfer,us, does not hit the warbird golf balls in the woods or in the water. Calloway still has not made the warbird golf balls float.

Calloway golf balls has also installed a new high power core, the part of the ball we do not want to see. This higher resiliency, faster core increases the distance us average hackers hit the golf balls and yet has not lost that soft feel so our hand don’t hurt.

All Business on the Golf Course

You might think about the golf course as a place to relax and unwind, a place to reconnect with family and shoot the bull with close friends. While all those things are patently true, I like to use it for another express purpose: business. Few people realize this, but tons of corporate deals are brokered on golf courses every year; think of the ninth fairway as a boardroom with a view.

Of course no one appreciates a hard sell when they’re trying to enjoy a round of golf. That’s why I like to stick with subtle tactics that tend to pay off over the long term rather than right away. For example, I always play with personalized golf balls bearing my company logo. I’ll sometimes leave one of the balls in the cart after my round, or I’ll tell my playing partner to keep it. Sooner or later they are sure to look at that ball again, and when they do they will think of my company.

Taylormade Golf Balls the Burner

Saturday, November 14, 2009 By: john

Taylormade Golf Balls has a ball named after their famous drivers and long woods, the Burner. The choice for tour performance and bomber distance.

The Burner Golf Balls are engineered for every type of player that wants a bomber off of the tee box with optimum distance. With Taylormade’s 360 dimple design we get a high launch angle and longer carry even with our not so fast golf club head speed.

The Burner golf ball has an energetic core with soft compression and amazing sound and some feel you might think you are hitting the old balata covered golf balls.

Taylormade golf balls, like Taylormade golf clubs are quickly becoming the golf equipment of choice for us golfers. Good quality equipment at a reasonable price, numerous choices for our numerous talents,or not.

Tuesday golf! what a great thing

Thursday, November 12, 2009 By: john

Tuesday was great weather for northern Wisconsin. It usually is low 40’s or colder with a nip in the air. Today is 55 degrees and no wind and the golf course has been reopened after closing on November 1st. I am doing my honey do list of things to do before a hard winter.

I see a golf cart go by with clubs on it, then another, then another. I can see the number one tee box and there is activity there. What am i doing, i say to myself, grab theTaylormade golf clubs and put them on the golf cart and get out there! Its a great day for golf with friends.

The game today with six of us ( most of the golfers that live here have gone south for the winter) is best two of three and skins with two threesomes. The grounds crew has had dryer weather so the leaves are really blown off, even in the most of the rough. I had three pars on the front with a 43 and on the back a 46 with three pars and a bird. The Nike super soft golf  balls work good and have a soft feel in the weather and i never lost it all day.

OH I almost forgot, my team won low score and i got THREE skins, what a bonus for playing the greatest game ever.
