Golf GPS Units 101 part 2

Friday, December 11, 2009 By: john

In the first segment i was explaining the progress of the golf GPS units. And also how fast they have improved from there humble beginning. Since the PGA has ok,d them for tournament use the manufactures in this category have bone a massive amount of improvements.

Now the golf GPS units are a valuable piece of golf equipment to help you improve your game. And with the competion among the manufacturers they are full of information and it is easy to operate them.

If you have not tried on of these Gps units on the golf course you need to go to a golf course that rent them for the day and try one. I am sure you will be amazed at the accuracy, the graphics, and all of the information. These game improvers can tell you the distance to hazards, sand traps, ponds, streams. They first just told you where the green is but now they know it all. Try one i think you will be presently surprised.

Look at my other blogs on individual units to get specifics for purchasing information and what they can each do for you.

Golf GPS units 101

Category: Golf, Golf equipment

Golf gps units have come a long way very fast. Remember when they first came out and were not legal for competition play. Thankfully the USGA saw the light and made them legal, after all it just leveled the playing field so the average golfer could have a caddie also.

The first gps units were hard to operate, had bad graphics, were not very accurate and only told you how far to the green. But now these golf  GPS units have gotten hugely better in all areas. The graphics are life like, you have measurements to and over the bunkers and  the ponds. And you can access the information before the group behind you hits into you.

These are a great addition to the golf equipment you already have and can lower that handicap score just by keeping you out of trouble, and save some of your golf balls from swimming.

Come back later for more GPS units 101 and the rest of the story.

Golf Gps units, mandatory golf equipment

Wouldn’t it be great to be on a golf course you have never played and be able to know the exact yardage to anywhere on the course from where you are? These golf gps units are working toward that end very fast. The accuracy is getting better with every new unit. the technology has improved vastly since the first generation golf gps.

I remember when the gps for golf was still illegal to use in competition. But that has changed everything now that the units can be used unlimited. It is about time the average golfer has the advantage of the knowledge of a caddie like the professionals get.

It is great to play a new course like you have already been there. Even if you play somewhere 10 times in the last 3 years you are going to land your golf balls where they have never been before. With golf  gps mapping and new technology you know how far that bunker is, how far the green is, how far is it to the woods on the other side of the dog leg.
